Before I received this book I knew that women in Afghanistan had far less rights than women in America. I did not however know the severity of these women's lives. This book was definitely eye-opening and showed me how lucky I am. I was heart broken to read these stories but happy for those women who have overcome so much. If you like learning about other cultures, this is definitely a must read. Though some points dragged a bit, Nordburg was very thorough in her research and I truly learned so much about the hardships of women in Afghanistan. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy nonfiction.
