Happy Summer! I hope you all are having an amazing summer so far! I know I am :) I thought I would share with you my summer playlist.
A lot of these are oldies (which is what I mainly listen to) but I think they are all perfect for driving with windows down and the wind blowing in your hair. I also made this playlist on Spotify so you can just click here and press play!
Hello!!!!! It has been ages since I've put up a blog post!
I'm so sorry. I'm not going to go into details and excuses as to why I've been gone...let's just move on!
Also, thank you to my new followers!! I love you all so much :)
I thought since I've been gone, I would make a "Current Obsessions" post. I tend to get obsessed when I find something I love (don't we all?), so I thought I would share with you what I'm loving! Maybe you will find a new love too :)
1. EASY COOKING: I am not on the meal plan at school and I can not cook, but recently I have been trying to break into the cooking business. These simple recipes are a life-saver! These banana and egg pancakes are delicious and so easy to make!
2. SWING AND BLUES: The Nat King Cole station on pandora is the perfect station to play in the morning. It's calming but just upbeat enough to give you energy for the rest of day. I love this era of music! Everyone's voice is so beautiful and the songs make me feel like I'm in disney movie! Sounds silly but I love it!
3. GIRLS: This show is SO GOOD. I can't even begin to explain how much I'm in love with this show. It depicts the life of four girls who just graduated college and moved to New York to follow their dreams. It is funny and crazy but realistic and relatable. If you are a twenty-something who is in or about to be in the "real world" (like me!) you will love this show.
Just watch it! Its perfect!
4. THE NEW YORK TIMES: I go through stages where I read the news everyday or I don't at all. Lately, I've been reading The New York Times and I love it! I can quickly scan the headlines to get the gist of what's happening in the US, but mainly I read it because they have articles about my other interests, like science and medicine, global news, and movie reviews. As a soon-to-be-college graduate I think it's time for me have a better grasp on what's going on around me.
5. TED TALKS: I just started watching these on Netflix. They are so inspiring and thought-provoking! I can find a talk on any subject and learn something new! If you haven't watched these I highly suggest it. You will walk away feeling like you can do anything. My favorite talk that I've seen so far is about how we have a culture of expecting doctors to be perfect. The speaker is doctor himself and his talk is brilliant and really changed the way I view the medical field. It's on Youtube so I'll link it if you are interested :)
Today's post will take the place of my usual "Monday Favorites." Since I missed last Monday, my little brother Julian will fill in for me! I hope you all enjoy.
Is Dubstep getting stale? Or did you give up on the genre completely? Well before you move on, here is a list of three young, new and unknown artists that might bring new hope to this hyped genre of music.
3. EH!DE
EH!DE is a music producer from Spain. He is associated with the record label 'Pooty Club'. I first noticed this artist through many collaberations with Spag Heddy but the song that really made me follow him was a song named 'My Heart' with Different Heaven. Most of his music is for free on Soundcloud, so check him out!
Eptic is a music producer from Belgium and is on the famous record label 'Never Say Die'. His music is straight forward and simple, yet still causes your head to bob and your foot to go with the beat. This artist gained a lot of attention (including me) from exposure from the Dubstep artist named Excision (a classic) in his Shambala Mix 2013. I followed him because of his song 'Gun Finga' and a collaboration with my favorite artist MUST DIE! in the song 'Z'. His songs are not free but they are worth the buy, so check him out!
This music producer is on the other famous label 'Play Me'. He is from the Netherlands and there are copious reasons why I love his style of Dubstep. First of all, his sounds are all unique to him and his melodies are always as good as the drops. Another reason is because you can hear the talent from him because of how fast he makes his songs. I also love him because all his songs are "bangers" and best of all, they are all free! You have to check him out!
MUST DIE! is an artist from Atlanta. And he, also is on the record label 'Never Say Die' (kinda ironic). I love this artist because his style of Dubstep is really weird, both in his sounds and in the way it flows. Majority of his songs are free, so check him out!
So, I hope after all of these unknown artists that are slowly making a name for themselves, you find some things you like. Did these artists revive that callow soul in your body for Dubstep again?
I hope you enjoyed this postand while you are on your way out, go ahead and check out my own music page!
I've noticed that I have been listening to certain songs since it's gotten colder. Mainly, they are slower and more relaxed, but make me happy while listening. I have these songs on a playlist on my iPod and have them on repeat (along with a few others).
I'm not sure why but with the change in season, these songs just give me a feeling of winter time. Take a listen to some of the songs below if you're looking to add new songs to your own playlist.
I of course have some classic Christmas songs, but I also have some random-don't-have-anything-to-do-with-Christmas songs. I don't know about you, but I cannot solely listen to Christmas music, I will go crazy!
