OGR: Star Trek: Into Darkness

Just got out of Star Trek and it was awesome! I went in with really high expectations for some reason. I think it was because I was really excited to see Benedict Cumberbatch. The movie did not disappoint! 

I forgot that J.J Abrams directed it until I saw the credits. It all made sense when I saw that. It was definitely a signature Abrams film. 

The main thing I loved about the film were the special effects. They were incredible! It all looked so real, the detail was on point. I felt like I was on one of those studio rides. For example, the first scene on the red planet, I felt as if I could actually reach out and grab one of the red vines. This was without watching it in 3D. 

I have never seen any of the originals Star Treks so I can't say how true they kept to the plot line, but I really enjoyed all the characters and how Kirk was becoming a "Captain" Kirk. 

Overall, I give it a 4.6/5. I know it seems I give all the movies I see good ratings but it doesn't take much for me to like a movie!
